URGENT COMMUNITY ALERT

Tracy City Council to Revisit the COMMUNITY DESIGN PLANS for the AQUATIC CENTER at the 5:00 PM August 19th Meeting

Tracy city staff, under the direction of Parks and Recreation Director Brian MacDonald, is promoting a scaled-down “New Concept Plan,” a “Staff Plan,” that removes many core features of a true swim center and aquatic park experience.

For years, the Parks and Recreation Department worked closely with the council-appointed Aquatic Task Force. It supported the robust Community Design Plans until senior staff abruptly shifted focus to the Multi-Generational Rec Center, disregarding over two decades of community input and planning.

Fortunately, the newly seated Mayor and City Council will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, August 19, to revisit and consider using the Community Design Plans for the Aquatic Center.

This is a critical moment for our community.

The Community Design Plans offer the full range of year-round amenities residents expect from a first-class aquatic facility.
